In Rotterdam, this floating garden is entirely made with recycled plastic from the rivers

Nothing is lost, everything is transformed ! A beautiful philosophy of life that has chosen to borrow the association Recycled Island Foundation the Netherlands. In the town of Rotterdam, this association had the idea to create a real floating garden usingt recycled plastic found in nearby rivers.

This unusual park was born on the Meuse (a river which also crosses the North of France) and consists entirely of recycled plastic on a surface of 140 square meters. It is made up of 28 hexagonal blocks who come together to give life to this garden out of the ordinary. Each hexes is filled with soil to allow the vegetation to grow. The Recycled Park (it's his little name) still asked for no less than five years of work to see the light of day.

In any case, the initiative is excellent and shows that we can act in favor ofa cleaner ecosystem while creating new living spaces for citizens. An idea which, hopefully, will inspire many port cities as Rotterdam worldwide.
