The short film is an extremely difficult exercise because we have to succeed in emotions to the viewer in just a few minutes. This is a real master's tour that requires excellence in graphic and sound production as well as in the storytelling.
And that's good, since the artist we're going to talk to you about today is pretty good at it. Her name is Madeline Sharafian and she works for Pixar (just that). On his free time, Madeline also enjoys making cute short films and one of them caught our attention.
An ode to complicity master-dog
Unveiled in 2013, Omelette is an adorable short film that highlights the complicity that exists between a master and his dog. In just two minutes, this powerful short film tells the story of an adorable little dog who will do everything to help his master who comes home from work, exhausted.
Everything goes particularly well in this short film: the graphic style "Drawn" makes the little dog even more adorable, the story is short and effective and all is served with a soundtrack that sticks rather well to emotions that the artist wants to make the viewer feel. In short, a true masterpiece of animation that will inevitably make you sketch a little smile.
To return to the themes explored in this short film, there is the complicity master-dog but also the kitchen. Madeline Sharafian explains indeed that his family life revolves around the kitchen and that is what justifies the choice of this strong theme.
We invite you to discover Madeline Sharafian's portfolio to learn more about his achievements and if you like this kind of short film, we invite you to discover Oktadopi, a wonderful short film made by six students from goblins in 2007 which tells the impossible love story between two octopuses.
