And if you could get, overnight, a Super power ? The subject is sobering and it is approached in the best of ways in "The Black Hole", a short film released in 2017 on Dust, a web platform that offers the best short films of science fiction (in short, the Netflix 100% sci-fi).
The scene takes place in a virtually empty office, where a man who stands in front of a photocopierat once utterly exhausted and disappointed. A blank sheet, then a second come out of the machine with only drawing a huge black circle. The employee seems to be in the most total misunderstanding and remains confused by what he is attending since he has not at all the expected rendering on his photocopies.
He looks strangely at one of the leaves, then approaches the black circle that begins to vibrate under his fingers. Surprised, he steps back and tries to touch him again. Suddenly, his hand goes through until completely disappear and he realizes that this circle gives him access to anything. He then becomes jovial because he thinks he's got some sort of Super power that would allow him to get all the things he could not afford ... even to break the ban and forget his own values.
This short film is almost like a contemporary fable accompanied by a moral at the end. Without you spoiler, for comparison, one could equate the story of "The Black Hole" to another issue of a Greek mythology : that ofIcarus who burns his wings and succumbs to his wounds after flying too close to the sun by excess of bragging and of naivete with his father Maze. Here, this man is discovering this power of Super herowho will lead him to be devoured by the curiosity and the greed. An attitude that is not inconsequential.
A fable of modern times which is sobering by some vices present in each of us. In a registry more babyish, always on the line of a small story containing a moral, we can propose you the story of a puppy who despite his clumsiness, wants to become guide dog. To know that "Pip"Is a animated short film is an initiative ofSoutheastern Guide Dogs.
If you want to know the end of the story, you just have to visualize this micro-film! To your comments and your interpretations!
