For decades now, dolls are represented with so-called faces "Perfect", symmetric and always Masked. A representation of the woman judged today by many people far too much idealistic and out of step with the reality of our society. Because yes, more than ever, it is important that our children (and not just girls) can play with more dolls realistic which perfectly symbolize diversity physical Of our society.
A subject obviously very important in the eyes of the Ukrainian artist Olga Kamenetskaya who had the idea of "Cleansing" the dolls to make them look a lot more realistic and natural. Olga literally erases and repaints the faces of her dolls to make them look much more natural.
A beautiful artistic project that responds to an important message of our society. Imperfections, shapes, impurities, buttons and more generally asymmetry are absolutely not represented in most dolls marketed in businesses today; Barbie being without a doubt the "head of bow of this popular image. With his creations, Olga Kamenetskaya intends to change mentalities from a very young age and to sensitize the reflection of reality, of our real world.
A project freely inspired by an initiative of the Australian artist Sonia Singh which we were talking about in 2016. We invite you to discover below the dressup ofOlga Kamenetskaya and as usual, you can also go on his Instagram to learn more about the artist.
