It's crazy to see how in a few years the selfie has become a very common practice in our society. Almost everyone has at least taken a selfie at least once in their life, which is to take a picture alone or with others. Selfies have long been criticized because they testify, it must be admitted, a certain self-centredness... and sometimes a risky practice to get the most sensational photo.
That's why our artist of the day came up with the idea of replacing the selfie from the most unusual ways. Stephanie Leigh Rose is an actress full of imagination who, visibly tired of the fashion of the selfies, had the idea to embark on a totally improbable project baptized STEFDIES.
The principle is simple: instead of making selfies to illustrate its traveling around the world, the young artist is photographing flat stomach in the different places she visits. In short, it makes the dead. An idea that aims to focus on the place and not the person, who is relegated to the background of the composition. Stephanie speaks about her project:
The interest of STEFDIES is to allow the spectator to participate in the image, by recreating the pose on his own photos. My long hair alludes to the fact that I am a woman, but apart from that, no one really knows who is behind my project at first. I prefer to keep STEFDIES neutral, ageless, without sex, without personality. I want everyone to identify with my concept.
The idea, you understood it, is to turn to the derision tourist photos and selfies that we can see on social networks and create a new fashion where everyone could have fun to take a picture layer, à flat stomach. Our actress is also very openly inviting her community to post "Stefdies" on the same principle. To note that Stephanie Leigh Rose does not organize anything upstream and does not use any accessories. All his photos are taken spontaneously according to his travels to show, in some ways, that they are the opposite of selfie where everything is calculated in advance, superficial and self-centered.
An original initiative, which brings us to think about the fashion of the selfie and that we propose you to discover more in depth on the Instagram of STEFDIES or on the official website of the project. And if the selfie is a subject that fascinates you (or who horrifies you), we invite you to discover this improbable fashion on social networks which involves taking a picture of yourself through a roll of toilet paper to turn into Moon... The magic of the web!
