This artist plays with typography to create fascinating 3D illusions

In terms of street artwe find artists as fascinating as each other. Everyone brings his own touch and goes for his specialty, just likeDamon Belanger who likes to imagine false shadows to trap passers-by in the street, or toTom Bob, a New York artist, whodiverts street furniture to create small characters.

And today we are going to talk about the British artist Preferences which also has a very particular way ofexpress your artistic fiber. Preferences has two passions in life: street art and typography. So, he decided to mix these two worlds to create street art works that give life to surprising optical illusions.

Preferences has fun graffiti words on facades that give the illusion of being in 3D. But his art goes even further than that: thanks to this impression of depth that he manages to give to his works, one can see several layers which allow hide different levels of text. A subtle work that allows the artist to hide different messages on his works playing with negative space... and it's really very successful!

We let you discover below some of his works and if the work of Preferences seduces you, we invite you to visit his portfolio to discover more about his art.
