The free-floating, you know ? This is a very popular practice at the moment, which consists in providing various means of locomotion to the general public. Startups are numerous in large cities, like Paris, to adopt this model by offering passers-by to bicycles or scooters self-service, as you know.
And now, it will also rely on wheelchairs! In Toulouse, society INDIGO weel, a subsidiary of Vinci, announced that it would soon make available to the inhabitants of the pink city self-service electric wheelchairs. These should be installed in the car parks from the city of Toulouse. They will aim to enable people with disabilities, whether permanently or temporarily, to move more easily in the city.
The service will be tested at first in the car parks of the Capitol and of Victor Hugo, located in the center of the pink city. In order to benefit from the service, it will nevertheless be necessary reserve the chair at least two hours before use. An employee of the car park will then deliver it on site. In order to set up the service, INDIGO weel will collaborate with the American company whill already expert in the field.
We love the idea, which of course favors inclusion and which should develop in many cities in France if its establishment in Toulouse is a success. Note that this is the first time in France that such a device is in place, so we could only highlight this beautiful creative initiative!
